Welcome to Elm Class

Welcome to Elm Class, a KS3 class of 11 pupils. We are looking forward to an exciting new school year filled with learning, new experiences, opportunities to develop independence and, of course, lots of fun!

Our Class Team

Together, we work to create a supportive, engaging and inclusive environment where every pupil is encouraged to develop their confidence, communication and independence.

Autumn 1 – Amazing Places and Spaces

Our first topic this year is ‘Amazing Places and Spaces’. We will be exploring some fascinating places and environments, both on Earth and beyond!

In Science, we will investigate Earth and the atmosphere, developing our understanding of the world around us. We also have an exciting planetarium show planned, which will give us the opportunity to explore space and the universe in an immersive and memorable way.

For English and Communication, our focus text will be Odd and the Frost Giants. We will join Odd on his adventure and explore the world of Norse gods and mythology. Alongside developing our reading and communication skills, we will use the story to encourage discussion, imagination and creativity.

Throughout everything we do, communication skills and wider independent living skills underpin our learning. We will provide opportunities for pupils to make choices, express themselves, develop their confidence and become increasingly independent in their everyday lives.

PE

PE will take place on Wednesday afternoons.

Please ensure that pupils come to school with their PE kit and appropriate footwear on Wednesdays so that everyone can take part safely and confidently.

Looking Ahead

We are very excited to welcome everyone back for the new school year. There are lots of exciting opportunities, experiences and learning adventures ahead, and we can't wait to see our Elm pupils grow, learn and thrive throughout the year!
