Welcome to Beech class

Hello and welcome to the spring term.
This term in Beech we have lots of great learning oppurtunities and experiences planned. We are a class of key stage 4 pupils and we follow the ‘Moving On’ Equals Curriculum which is designed to support our young people as they continue to develop skills in Maths, English, ICT alongside Vocational Studies; World Studies and independent living skills.
Pupils are supported individually or in small groups throughout all lessons; identifying what is important to them, what they want to learn. and working hard to increase their independence and self-help skills each day, including communicating choices.
Other work will include:
- Technology- using resistant materials.
- English sessions focussing on plays, particularly The Boy who Cried Wolf and The Magic Twig.
- Data and different ways we can show numbers.
- Managing our time and independence skills.
- First aid and how we can request help.
- Cultural studies this term will focus on China.
- Communicating our opinions, feelings and beliefs
- We will continue to stream daily for phonics.
Please ensure your child has appropriate named clothing to access the playground which they will have the opportunity to do multiple times a day. We have many pupils who struggle to recognise their own belongings, especially with smaller items like hats and gloves. Please help us by ensuring these are named.
As always please feel free to contact the staff team via the home school diary or call if you prefer. We will continue to share your child's work regularly on evisense. If you require help logging in please let Amy or the office know.
